Celtic Pilgrim Tours Why Ireland?

Why Ireland?

At the moment there is an unprecedented interest in Ireland and in Irish things. The troubles have kept Ireland on the front pages of all the world's newspapers, on and off for over thirty years. The ups and downs of the peace process and the shock of tragedies ensures that this small island is never far from the world's attention.

More positively, Irish films, actors, singers and bands have been to the fore over the past decade. The success of Riverdance and other productions have brought Irish culture to many parts of the globe. Irish voices are welcome on television and radio throughout the UK and North America. Irish literature is respected and widely read. There has been a resurgence of interest in the Irish language, Irish traditional music and Irish dancing; people are proud of their Irish roots. Ireland has moved to "center stage".

In small communities, churches and homes throughout Ireland, groups have been meeting to pray for peace and reconciliation. Outside of Ireland, people from all different countries have felt Ireland being placed on their hearts and lips as they pray. Some teams of intercessors have visited these shores, many of them establishing friendships and partnerships, which promise to extend well into the future.

All of this gives the distinct impression that something is going on. In various ways churches, prayer groups and individuals have expressed a conviction that God is bringing things to a head among the peoples of Ireland and between the Irish and other Peoples. The age old controversies and divisions which have given rise to so much misery, bloodshed and horror must be dealt with so that the Irish peoples can be healed, reconciled, both with one another and with their neighbors, friends and even enemies.

insidechurch.jpgIt is time for Ireland to be healed and reconciled. It is time for Ireland to take place among the nations of the earth and it is time for Ireland to achieve her true destiny in the kingdom of God.

While you may know about the tumultuous history and calming countryside of this lovely Atlantic island, we seek to share with you the story and excitement of age-old Ireland -- a place with ancient wells of spiritual blessings and where revival spread like wildfire in the 1800s.

We are eager to see God move in this country again and we ask you to consider joining us in prayer and in person.

Some things are unforgettable. We invite you to come visit the soil where St. Patrick once walked, where Irish monks kept alive the Word of God during the Middle Ages, and where the Holy Spirit of God swept a spiritually-hungry country in the mid-19th century, bringing thousand's to salvation right on the streets.

You'll visit the Grianan of Aileach, the high seat of the O'Neill clan, the ancient kings of Ireland. Off to the side is a path not known to most visitors...we will take you there and tell you what happened there that is of spiritual significance. You'll marvel at the Giant's Causeway and the breathtaking beauty of the Glens of Antrim. Imagine yourself at Bangor Abbey where there was non-stop prayer and worship for over 200 years. See the Valley of the Angels where angels once sang, St. Patrick's first church planting at Saul Church and Celtic high crosses at Monasterboice. This is Ireland at its very best.

God gives nations a window in time, a season when the nation is moved to center stage. This is Ireland's moment.
